Alone at last Calev leaned against the tree and slumped down. He had been walking for days in the same direction, seeing nothing but grassland for miles. Today was different though, today he saw this lake, this beautiful lake, along with the tree he was now sitting against. "Finally..." he whispered to himself. And with that, he took the ocarina around his neck, and began to play it. It was a soft melody, one that would "tame any wild beast" according to his father. His father was the one that taught him this song and many others. Calev still didn't know the name of it, but he found he could play it flawlessly after hearing it once. He loved this song the most. It was one of the last things he had left of his father. A single tear dropped from Calev's right eye as he continued playing. All of a sudden a bird flew out from the tree, and landed in front of Calev, watching him intently. The bird started swaying back and forth, almost to the tune of the ocarina. Calev shrugged the thought off. "Must just be a coincidence... again" He thought, as he closed his eyes and continued playing.

No Longer Alone Calev was playing his ocarina when all of a sudden he smelled something in the air that he hadn't since he started playing. He didn't open his eyes just yet however, he liked to test himself and his senses at times, and so he tried to guess what it was that he was smelling. "Is it... no can't be... how about... no... hmmm... I know... it's... blood?..." He thought to himself. He wondered about the smell and where it was coming from. His initial reaction was that he had a nosebleed, but he didn't feel it running down over his upper lip. He then thought back to the bird and wondered if it was from the bird. He didn't dare open his eyes though, blood makes him squeamish, so instead he continued playing, hoping that the smell would go away, which it didn't. It actually became stronger much to Calev's dismay, and he closed his eyes slightly tighter while continuing to play. When he heard her voice though, he just had to open his eyes. When he did however, he stared straight at her chest and slightly blushed.(insert nosebleed here xD) He then looked up to see the face of the person in front of him, and he actually played one wrong note as he stared into her saddened light blue eyes. He never liked it when someone interrupted him while playing his ocarina, or disrupted his train of thought. When someone talked to him, they usually expected a response, which would mean he had to either just ignore them and continue playing, or stop playing and actually talk back, both of which he doesn't like. However, this time was different, he didn't care that his thoughts were interrupted, mostly cause they were just about blood, and he'd rather take his mind off of that, although he still never realized where the blood smell was coming from. The problem was, he was usually very timid and shy around girls, which inhibits his want of speaking even more. His mind came back into focus though and he remembered what she had said. He didn't quite want to stop playing, not yet, and so he just nodded in agreement and kept on playing. He suddenly remembered about the bird and reluctantly looked in the direction of where it was, surprised to see that it was still there listening and swaying unharmed. He felt relieved and relaxed a little bit, closing his eyes again wondering if the girl in front of him would go away. He secretly wished she would stay though, he liked company, but mostly only when they didn't expect him to speak. If she did leave however, that would be fine too, although he hoped he would somehow see her again, something about her eyes. He started thinking about her and who she was, and why she was even here. "She was pretty cute... I hope she doesn't get mad at me for not responding... what if she kicks me like that last girl did... my leg still hurts... I wonder what she's doing here out in the middle of nowhere... hell... I wonder what I'M doing here out in the middle of nowhere... fate?... nah... coincidence? that's more like it I guess... He shrugged it all off though, usually people will take the hint and leave when he didn't speak back to them. "She's probably already gone." He thought, as he continued playing with his eyes closed, not daring to open his eyes again for fear if she was still there.

Hunger is a good Ice Breaker... After awhile, Calev's stomach started growling, and he suddenly realized how long it was from when he ate his last meal. He suddenly stopped playing the ocarina and opened his eyes. As he opened them however, his eyes again were laid on the girls chest(nosebleed... again xD), as he started blushing again. He quickly looked away towards the bird hoping she didn't notice where he was looking. He wasn't surprised to see that the bird had stopped swaying and was looking at him, almost asking him to continue playing again. He just shook his head and grabbed his backpack lying next to him. He took out a piece of cloth, red on one side, green on the other, and placed it green side down on the grass in front of him and the girl. He then took out some carefully wrapped cheese and some beef jerky, stopping a moment at the jerky. He was never one for vegetarianism, he of course loved animals to death, but he knew that animals were for us to eat, and it wasn't a wrong thing. Some people called him a hypocrite and hated him, he would shrug it off and not care though. He wondered if this girl was a vegetarian, and if she would think it hypocritical to eat meat while loving animals. He hoped not, he also hoped he made it clear enough that she could have some of his food if she wanted to. Calev suddenly realized that the bird was no longer there, probably flying off due to him not playing any longer, and that he and the girl were alone.(eep xD) He still didn't want to make eye contact with her though, and so he didn't look up, instead keeping himself busy by putting the cheese cubes and beef jerky in a neat circle. Calev's stomach rumbled again, and his face went a little pink out of embarrassment. He took a single piece of the jerky and began to nibble on it, taking out his notepad and a pencil. He began to write in it, biting his lip as he paused for a moment, and then continued again.

I made a picture of you... out of legos. Calev snuck a glance at the girl in front of him, noticing that she wasn't looking at him, or the food in front of them. He smiled just then, as he came up with an idea, and flipped to another page in his notebook. He began to draw her, starting with her eyes. He knew he should have asked for permission first, but he was too shy. He also didn't want her to say no, so he didn't bother to ask. Once done with her basic outline and eyes, he began to draw in the lake, and the little cloth with the food on it. He tried to keep it a secret though, trying not to look at her when she was facing him. She most likely knows what I'm doing... he thought, as he was drawing her hair. I hope she doesn't think I'm drawing only certain body parts... or just staring at her when she's not looking... that'd be awkward... After awhile, he was mostly satisfied with it, but he didn't know what to do with the picture once it was complete. He could save it, but then that might seem creepy. He could give it to her, but what would she think of it... And would she accept it? He didn't know what he should do, so eventually he made up his mind, he would ask her for her name. Once he knew her name, he would write it on the picture, and then give it to her, after signing it of course. This way she'd know his name, without him having to actually say it. He disliked saying his name out loud, it just never sounded right. He finally finished the picture, and summing up all his courage, looked in her general direction, and asked her the question. "So... what's your name?"

[bgcolor=E7CDD7] [/color] Now her name was a bit difficult to spell. It could be spelled as Emillia, Emelia, Emalia, or any other way you could think of really. Her's started with an A though, not an E. "What about yours?" Her voice was still in a quiet, slightly monotone, way of speaking. Amelia mostly had her voice like that, it was easiest for her to do. Although sometimes, some one would be able to sense some emotion in her voice if they looked hard enough. She wasn't completely heartless, after all. Amelia was a generally rude person, but the boy's playing made her not feel like being rude to him. This made her think that there might be another thing special about him, making him not so boring. People were generally a boring species though, especially ones with brown eyes and brown hair. How... common. Amelia was glad for being a vampire, a more rare species compared to humans, and she had pink hair and light blue eyes. Yes, that is her natural hair colour. No, she does not have extensions either.
